John RitaGreat web site. I'm embarassed to say I just found it. It was great looking through the old pictures. I hope everybody's well. I retired from the Cook County Sheriff's Police in 2002 and was hired by the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2003. I now run a maximum security juvenile prison for boys ages 13 to 20 in Joliet, Illinois. If you're ever in town give me a call. I'm at the Illinois Youth Center-Joliet and we're now with the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. Stop by.

I retired from active law enforcement in 2003 and am now teaching criminal justice when I am not out on my motorcycle touring the back roads. Mac DowI retired as Chief of the Maine State Police in 1999 and have been working as Director of Corporate Security for Irving Oil (New England & Atlantic Canada) for the past ten years. Our two children (and two grandchildren) are living in the Carolinas. We enjoy visiting; especially during the long winter months. I have very fond memories of the NA experience and occasionally hear from classmates Roy Frusha (Louisiana) and John Daulby (Australia).

James MontgomeryHello to all the members of the 173. Well I retired from the Miami-Dade Police Deptartment after approx. 32 years of service. Jim TrollingerI am visiting the Guest Book for the first time. I don't know who first had the idea, but it was a great one. I feel like the great-grandpa of the NA - all of the signees to this book attended the NA much, much later than I. I was a member of the 95th Session, good ole 1973, but I doubt any of theprevious visitors to this site had more fun and got more out of the NA than did I. I retired as a Deputy Chief, U.S. Capitol Police in 1989, and the lessons I learned at the NA had much to do with my promotions.

Roy ColeyMembers of the 173rd attending the conference in Kansas City will have a dinner together on Wednesday night July 28, 2004 after the conference closes. We may also have some function that afternoon as well. It is being planned now. Last year we took the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak and then met at 7 pm for a wonderful dinner together with about 35 people in attendance including spouses. We hope you can come. Please contact Roy Coley at rlc173@ctc.net for more information or to let us know you will be there. We will need to get a head count as the time gets closer. I hope to see you at the conference.

Susan NixonMauro, great site. You will be hearing from more and more classmates. We have a group of 40+ who have been communicating via e-mail for at least 8 years, 10 for some of us. It is not a web-site , just a very large address string. We call it the 173rd Electronic Boardroom. I am retiring this month after 31 years with the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston Texas. Several others have retired already or are retiring soon. Maybe we can get them to sign in in your guest book also.

Lt. Tom SmithGreat site. I host the 211th Session site at www.fbina211.org. Your class has a great representation here! We have had over 108,000 hits on our site since we activated it. I am a true believer that these are great mechanisms to keep in touch, spread the word and offer a spot for those of us with short memories to "relive the experience". Nice Job! John LockardI retired after 29 years at the best job in the world. I will especially remember my time at the FBI with Mauro Silva. He made me realize that police work is basically the same all over and we all can learn from each other. I certainly learned a great deal from Mauro. I still don\'t know what to do with that yellow brick.

Lt. Lance M. BurrisMauro, I\'m from the 187th session and just wanted to compliment you about the work you\'ve done in putting together your session website. It will, I am sure, be a great asset to you and your fellow classmates of the 173rd. I am a retired Indiana police officer presently working as a Master Instructor with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. If I can ever be of any assistance, please let me know. Again, congratulations on your idea and getting the site \"on the air.\" Lt. Lance M. Burris

Rod PiukkaHi folks - I am still out there doing police work.I have moved a bit, and I am presently the Deputy Chief of a 11oo person service on the east side of Toronto - Durham Regional Police (check out our web-site drps.ca). I have been here for two and a half years, having moved here from a Chief's job in southwestern Ontario. It was a smaller 125 person department. I was at the academy in September for the graduation of one of our Inspectors and frankly - nothing startling has changed other than increased security about the base. Look forward to hearing from any and all. Rod
